What We REALLY Do — And Why It Matters

One of the questions I get asked most often—sometimes even by family and friends—is, “What exactly does LeCroy & Milligan Associates do?” It’s a fair question. Phrases like program evaluation, technical assistance, and data-driven decision-making can sound abstract or overly technical. But at the heart of our work is something deeply human: helping organizations make informed decisions that strengthen communities and improve lives.

At LMA, we partner with the people and organizations doing some of the most important work in our communities—nonprofits, public agencies, schools, foundations, healthcare organizations, and community leaders. These are the individuals working every day to improve outcomes for children and families, expand access to services, strengthen public systems, and create opportunities for people to thrive. Our role is to help them access and use the information they need to move their mission forward with confidence and clarity.

That information can take many forms. Sometimes it’s data analysis, evaluation findings, surveys, or community feedback. Sometimes it’s strategic planning, training, or helping organizations understand what their results actually mean and what steps to take next. We help turn information into insight—and insight into action. Because when organizations have reliable information and the tools to interpret it, they are better equipped to make thoughtful decisions that lead to stronger programs and better outcomes.

We also know this work is not easy. Public servants and community organizations are often balancing limited resources, competing priorities, and growing community needs. Many members of our team have worked in those environments themselves, which is why we approach every partnership with empathy, collaboration, and a genuine commitment to helping our clients succeed. We don’t see ourselves as outside consultants handing over reports—we see ourselves as partners invested in meaningful impact.

After more than 30 years of this work, one thing remains clear: good information matters because people matter. Behind every program, every initiative, and every dataset are real communities and real lives. That is what drives us at LeCroy & Milligan Associates. We are here to help organizations use insight, data, and strategy to create stronger programs, healthier communities, and brighter futures for the people they serve.

When Data Becomes Human

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned working in behavioral health and program evaluation is this: data alone rarely creates change. Stories do. Of course, data matters. Outcomes matter. Evidence m
